With what monies came in after the request for immediate assistance last month, we were able to send $300 through Bishop Sakala to provide aid for the people of the Mpoto village who lost their homes and crops due to excessive rains. With that, 26 families were rescued with food aid. Most of these families are elderly, widowed, children, and those who are sick. We are so thankful for what this funding has been able to do in the Name of Jesus!
There are more families still in need of food, and elderly people are collapsing due to hunger. We need to send more funding for Mealie Meal (Nshima) to reach these people. Hunger will be on the rise until March and it is our prayer to send more funding. Please see the previous blog, "Immediate Needs for Assistance- Jan 2023" to have a better understanding of how this urgent need came to be.
Though these people are hungry, I have never seen a people more hungry for God. These are hard working people who do not expect handouts. The multitudes of villagers that have been won to Christ grow daily. It is my desire to show them that our God is merciful and that we, His Children called by His Name, set the example on what it means to Love unconditionally. Please help us do this.
