Feeding A Village - Praise Report

Updated: Aug 7, 2022

Praise Report:

On February 3, 2021, we announced an emergency request for donations to help fund a village in Zambia with food. If it weren’t for your heart of compassion, we would not have been able to efficiently feed these people where they can be sustained until next harvest season. But Thank God, they are being fed! More than feeding their bellies, we have been able to feed their spirit and show them that God is indeed able to meet their needs. In the battle against the demonic, because of YOUR help, God is proven yet again powerful, faithful, and worthy of our fidelity and praise!

Back Story:

In 2010, the Lord laid it on Scott’s heart to build a school out in the jungle for the kids who could not afford to go to government school. So a bush school, named Abel, was built to hold 80 children. There were 115 attending.

Like other villages, this village was once witch doctor ruled; but they accepted Jesus Christ and their church was growing. They were very hospitable to us while there in 2017.

In 2017 we went to this bush school and gave clothes to all the orphans and school children, assisted the teachers financially as well as with transportation (bicycles), and assisted with roofing the church and with bibles. This large and old village was thriving.

The pastor was taking care of the orphans in the bush school and helped with the school. His village supported the school, housed school teachers, and dug pit latrines. His village also helped other villages in many ways when they were struggling.

What Happened:

This past December, 2020, the Pastor of this old and thriving village passed away. Next to the Head Man, a strong Pastor is an influential leader of the village. So when a Pastor dies, it affects the entire village. We received word in January 2021 that the village was affected again, this time by flooding. Not only did they lose their Pastor, but excessive rains have submerged their crops and they were literally starving to death. It was very severe. The harvest season was over and the rains were gone. It won’t rain again for several months therefore new crops cannot be grown.

They had no way of any help or assistance and were literally dying daily; families were starving.

This is the only bush school out there, and the enemy is attacking this village now that the Pastor has died and their crops have flooded. Witch doctors see this as an opportunity to draw them back. I pleaded for help with funding to remind them that this God they have been trusting and serving, Yeshua, the God that WE trust and serve, IS God alone and carries the ultimate power and unyielding love regardless of circumstance. He is able to reach into the most remote parts of the world, through us- his arms and his feet! He IS indeed mighty to save!

Now!:

Bags of Nshima have been carried to the village on carts. Everyone is able to eat and be sustained. Nursing mothers will not lose their milk supply for their infants, and fathers will have strength to prepare the fields again. A new Pastor has since been placed in this village. Worship services will continue with yet one more reason to celebrate!

Bishop Sakala has a plan to build a silo. The silo, under lock and key, will be filled with bags of Nshima that can be distributed if and when this occurs again in one of the villages. With that said, we stay in need of funding for this project. For all you’ve done and all you may do, thank you from the bottom of our heart!

Messages from Bishop Sakala concerning the need:

28 January 2021: "Their Pastor [of the village] called Roger passed away in December. The hunger situation has been reported today by their teacher, Silvester, and it is really severe. My suggestion is Mealie Meal as a relief, and we can think of other sustainable plans…"

4 February 2021: "May God lift you up more and more. Thank you for your quick response… Sister, I have just received the funds and will act promptly for the people to have Nshima. With all our love, God bless."

10 February 2021: "Hai brother and sister. The village is doing fine with the Nshima funds. I am pleased with what God is doing. I have few pictures of the beneficiaries, children and parents, and am sending them to you tomorrow. Its so touching. In such a hard to reach area, it took me two hours walking to reach the village. You cant drive. The road is muddy and bad from the main tarmac."

11 February 2021: "Good evening. These are the photos taken. Praise God for the latest funds credited to the account this afternoon. God bless you people. I’m arranging for another distribution."
