Prepared Hearts

We have gone into WNC multiple times each week for the past three weeks to help clean out mud and debris from homes, clear trees and debris from yards, and take the needed provisions. In that time, six people have been born again- giving their lives to Jesus! In the midst of their shattered homes with all their posessions in heaps of mud-covered rubble, they exclaim in response to salvation, "This is amazing!" Though it was flood water that destroyed their property and devastated innumerable lives, they accept the Life-Giving Water that is in Jesus Christ. One person said to me, "If it weren't for the flood, I may have never met you. Praise God I met you! This is amazing." We have heard that phrase from different families in two different areas. One man shouted it while standing atop his heap of furniture and belongings piled up along the road. The strength and resilience of these people is astounding. I thank the Lord for sparing their lives and preparing their hearts. I pray and trust that He will bring comfort to those hurting today; those who lost a loved one or friend. I cry every day thinking about that. May God keep them in His embrace and give them all strength to move on, repair, and recover. May He also give us strength and endurance to continue helping them in every way we can.
In the Videos under the Gallery tab, there are some YouTube links from these events. Keep these people in your prayers as well as everyone whose lives were affected by this brutal storm.
